I am 18yr. old Christopher Williams and I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I’m a true soldier for God. Growing up in the Edgewood Community wasn’t a bad experience, but trouble often found me because I used to always take my anger out on others because of what I was dealing with at home. I struggled with having an alcoholic mother, a mostly absentee father, and hanging around the wrong crowd of my peers. I wasn’t a child who stole, made fun of people, or bullied others; yet I just constantly wanted to fight. My family and I didn’t grow up in church, but visited sporadically. Honestly, when I was younger I didn’t want to go to church because I didn’t see the point; but I still had love for God.
Then one day my friend, Jacob Ali, brought me to a church that I could never forget, Seventh Day Pentecostal Church of God. I didn’t know anyone, and truthfully I didn’t want to get to know anyone. But on a later occasion, I was invited to Chozen’s house, the group leader for M.A.D.E. 4 Christ. I really didn’t know why I was going over there, I just wanted to get out of the house. But I don’t regret going. Chozen asked me if I knew how to rap, and of course I said, “Yes!” But I didn’t initially know that it wasn’t secular rap. When Chozen said it was “gospel rap,” I looked at him crazily, like “What’s that?
But I gave it a try anyway, and I’m so glad I did.
From there on, I became very interested in doing gospel rap and making music for God. Chozen later asked me if I wanted to join the group, M.A.D.E. 4 Christ. At first I really thought you had to be “made 4 christ” in the sense that you needed to be perfect. But that’s not the case because no one is perfect. I like this group because you are free to be yourself, without being judged by others. I later met all of the other members of the group, and God soon gave me my first gospel rap song. And now I know that I’m definitely Made And Equipped 4 Christ.
